When I found out I was pregnant, I went from hospital to hospital gathering information and trying to get the “right feeling” to choose where I’d like to give birth, but none gave me that feeling at all. I prayed a lot about it and God gave me the revelation to search for a midwife. And so I went on Google and started searching, I contacted Crystal which was the first one I saw on the Google search. I was 10 weeks and 3 days pregnant. She was very quick to respond and arranged our first meeting at 14 weeks pregnant.

When I met Crystal and Jeremy, I wasn’t anxious or hesitant towards my decision, they were so welcoming and reassuring. Jeremy always chatting to us like old friends. As a first time mom I didn’t know what to expect or do at times, but Crystal was always answering my whatsapps. It became a thing where I looked forward to going to my appointments, not only to check on baby but to chat and build excitement for the birth to come. My mucus plug came out Saturday the 4th of April and I informed Crystal. Google was also (still is) my best friend to search everything 😄 so I wasn’t to alarmed as baby can come even weeks after. This wasn’t the case, that same night I started having mild contractions and didn’t think much of it and heated a hot water bottle and slept further. The Sunday I had no paid whatsoever and no contractions during the day, however that night at 11pm it started. It became worse and worse and by 4:30am and I messaged Crystal. I took panados and slept until 7am, Crystal arranged for me to come at 12pm to check how far dilated I am and baby’s heartbeat.

Contractions settled by this time. I ate and my mom and husband got packing and ready for baby! By 10:30 the contractions started again and was very strong and consistent. By 11:15 my mom said we should start going she thinks I won’t make it till 12pm. And boy was she right🤭 we left the house and 5 minutes later my water broke, my mom phoned Crystal we’re on our way. Crystal started filling the pool and within 8 minutes we were there. When Crystal checked I was already 9cm dilated! I got into the pool while Crystal rushed to fill it at 11:50am, and my beautiful daughter was born at 12:11pm.Everything happened so fast yet so effortlessly. Crystal was so calm and so gentle (another day at the office)I was supposed to mentally prepare myself for birth and practice breathing and there wasn’t any time for that, but in that moment it came naturally and I fully let my body take over.

I wouldn’t have had such a blessed pregnancy and birth without God’s hand through and in it all. He sent Crystal on my path and I’ll be forever grateful for the opportunity and experience, it was such a blessing. The last postpartum visit with Crystal and Jeremy was so emotional for me, this season and part of my life ended and I had to greet my family. Even though I don’t plan on having another anytime soon, I’d choose Crystal a million times over again. Forever grateful for you Crystal, may God continue to bless you. Much love to you and Jeremy always. ❤️
