When my water broke on Wednesday 15 October, I had no idea what a long and emotional journey lay ahead.

From that first call until well after Elijah’s birth, Crystal our incredible midwife, and her husband Jeremy, were with us every step of the way.

Crystal ‘s calm, kind presence made all the difference. She checked on me constantly, guided me through every stage of labor and when it became safest to transfer to hospital, she handled everything with such care. She prepped me, made all the arrangements and stayed by my side until I was settled. I honestly don’t know what I would have done without her.

From the start of our pregnancy, crystal and Jeremy made us feel like family. Every appointment was filled with reassurance, compassion and genuine care. And even now – before birth, during and after birth – I can message Crystal anytime for advice, whether it’s about how I’m feeling or questions about Elijah. Her support never stops and that’s truly something special.

Our doula Lindie was another beautiful part of this journey. From our first coffee meet-up she shared so much wisdom and comfort.

She checked in often. Sent videos with stretches and advice during pregnancy, and even now she continues to guide us with tips for parenthood. Her warmth and encouragement meant the world to us.

Even though our birth didn’t go exactly as planned, it turned out exactly how it was meant to be – surrounded by love, calm and Incredible support. The birthing home truly felt like home and Crystal and Jeremy made every moment peaceful and meaningful.
